Windows 10 folder keeps opening during bootup

    Windows 10 Pro

The "Media" folder opens up automatically on my desktop during every single bootup.

Anyone know how to stop this from happening?

Note* This is not the media player folder. This title of this folder is simply "Media".
    This folder contains windows sounds.

This isn't an app that is running, it's just a folder that opens on my desktop at startup.
I've looked in task manager/startup and it's not there. That's something that I check from time to time. There's also nothing new in the list that could be opening that folder up at startup.
I went through the rest of the list in spite of the fact that it all deals with apps, and nothing matches this folder opening at startup.

Hi, please try a couple of simple checks to try to see what's triggering this.

Please perform a clean boot (Google or see tutorial if unsure how)
    Does this still occur?

If so, please also use Autoruns (free from MS) and examine the startups it lists. It may well show more than are given by the task manager. Disable non-MS ones and reboot or log off/on if that's enough to trigger it.

What's left? A scheduled task perhaps.

History: usually not state by posters.
    - when did this start?
    - what change was made at this time?
    - do you have a System Restore point created before this started that you can use?

The forum prompted you, when you wrote your post, to include your build number.

Did you set it as the default "Save" location in some app that you've used? That could be one reason.

The clean boot stopped the folder from opening at startup. So it seems that it is connected to a windows service.

not intentionally. it would have had to happen without my knowledge.

    - more likely a startup.

But now you can work backwards by selectively enabling things to determine which is responsible.
