    Windows 10 Version 2004 Issues

After I installed Windows 10 Version 2004, it was really buggy across all of my computers including my new Laptop. So I reverted back to 1909, and my HP desktop wasn't so fortunate to get back up and running from the restore. I had to do an HP System Recovery.

    But one issue remains...

My files, pictures, and downloads are supposed to save to my old hard drive that is in the computer while the Windows files and settings are to save to my new SSD that was recently put in the computer.

Can anyone help me make sure that the files, pictures, and downloads are saving to the hdd and not my ssd?

Hi, do you mean that you wanted to relocate those default library folders to your HDD using the rt click, Properties, Location tab?

There are tutorials -simply search this searchable list for 'Location'.

However, be warned- if you make the slightest mistake using the Location tab, you can end up with a nightmare. You will note the tutorials recommend you make a system image (disk image) before using this.

Given the severe difficulties some get themselves in to, I asked for this to be added, so people can restore their system from the image they created.

Much the safer way is to create your own folders for personal data on the HDD and use those, for reasons I've given a number of times on tenforums.

You can also add these to your libraries. (Tutorial available).

@dalchina, @Porthos is the one that helped me do this. My personal information is stored to my 1 TB HDD while my Windows information is stored to the 500 GB SSD. I just want to confirm that it is being done the way Porthos had it set up.

    Thank you for your reply.

Then puzzled why you posted a general question when you wanted some very specific help from just one person- you could have sent porthos a private message. Good luck.

@dalchina, I didn’t know what to do. I was in a state of panic. My apologies! I will get in touch with him as soon as I can.
