since updating to windows 10 vr 2004, my laptop will not sleep ??

so i turn my laptop on sleep or close the lid and usually it sleeps, but it wakes up like something is waking it up all the time, this did not happen on previous build 1909 , i have checked all power settings nothing has changed in there, what would be causing this to do that ??

If it won't sleep likely a bad driver. Not always but likely.

Were you offered 2004 or did you force?

Have a look at device manager, any drivers flagged?

A lot of things can keep your computer from going to sleep, like downloading a file, opening a file on the network, or even a disconnected printer with an open job. Windows O/S have an easy method for finding out what the problem is.

Open the Command Prompt by typing cmd.exe into Start Menu, right-click on Cmd.exe, and open it as an administrator.

    Within the Command Prompt type:

    Code:
    Powercfg -requests

It'll let you know if anything is keeping the computer awake.

Execute below command to identify the event or device that is responsible for the last waking process. Once the results are shown, check the “Instance Path:” to see where it originated from (the USB or PCI port for instance) and look under “Type:” for the nature of the cause, typically a device or a wake timer.

    Code:
    powercfg /lastwake

Open Task Scheduler and disable Microsoft\Windows\UpdateOrchestrator\Schedule Wake To Work task.

@FreeBooter i tried but will not let me disable says i don't have the permission needed even though im a admin. i did some searches and lots having this issue with no recourse, seems its some sort of new task MS has added that's a nt authority task whatever the heck that means i don't no. kinda crazy they add a task that wakes up a pc hope Brink may pop in here and have a way of turning off the wake timer on this since i can't disable it.

well that did not work seems the system still wakes that dumb task has some system wide permission, i tried to disable its wake the pc up think but it has a account and password that i have never seen before, very strange since this is fresh install of windows from scratch when i bought the machine used i wiped it and fresh installed windows 10 pro. so that account must be a MS account tied to this update.
