I just tried to run Windows driver verifier and got a blue screen error

PC ran into a problem. STOP CODE DRIVER VERIFIER DETECTED VIOLATION
    what failed npl.sys

So I rebooted and code another blue screen error

STOP CODE IRQL NOT LESS OR EQUAL

I was lucky to have a restore windows could use.

I followed the directions for verifier to a T. I was checking
all non windows drivers when this happened.

That put a scare in me. I don't think I should mess with that
tool again. I will leave it up to the professionals. I will just have to
take it into the shop Monday and see what they say.

I can't thank you enough for all your dedicated time and help
trying to resolve this for me. Much appreciated. I only have so
much knowledge of computers, I think I'm getting into some areas
I should stay out of. The last thing I want to do is a complete
    restore....UGH!

I will go ahead and mark this as completed.

BSOD are fixed for free in the BSOD forum.

We use Microsoft software and commands that are more through than the one command used by the third party software.

With V2 the applicable logs are collected.

You can post V2 to continue troubleshooting or have a local computer store troubleshoot.

When using windows driver verifier the reset command should be used to turn off the tool.
If the reset command fails then use the bootmode command.
If the bootmode command fails then use restore.
Restore is used last as it may cause the loss of the dump file.
If restore fails then the registry is modified to turn off the tool.

The goal when using the tool is create crashes.
The misbehaving drivers are then uninstalled or uninstalled and reinstalled.
If there are no BSOD after 48 hours of testing an additional 36 hour is used.
If there are no further BSOD this concludes the testing with the tool.

A reset save files requires the replacement of drivers and applications.
This method with new hardware drivers and new application drivers is one method that does not require debugging skills.
A local computer may suggest this option unless they are trained or have sources such as us to debug the dump files.
We use windbg software which requires dump files.

    Your welcome.
