So many problems with my Lenovo machine.

Their customer support is literally terrible. Also, I am now out of warranty (not that they ever helped me when I was in warranty and asked them for help). I hope that there are polite people on here who will be able to be of assistance to myself:

    1. Sometimes, when I close the lid and leave the machine for more than 20 to 30 minutes, the power button will be lit but no matter how many times I press keys or the mouse buttons, the screen will not come on and I will have to wrongly press the power button down for several seconds to force the machine off then press it again to start it again.

    2. Also, there are many times that after I open the lid after having closed it, my Wi-Fi will not work at all even if I wait. The only way to resolve this is to restart the machine.

Both of these issues have existed in my machine since I first bought it but I did not complain at the time because I was so busy with work. I only just about had enough time to complain about some other problems with the machine.

In addition to all of the above, today I used their software to update my drivers then my computer stopped working. Blue Screen of Death citing "Stop code: DPC_WATCHDOG_VIOLATION" every time that I logged on to Windows. Luckily I was able to fix it by performing a system restore. I was already done buying from them but this just makes my impression of them even badder.

And these are just some of the problems. I have never experienced anything this bad before and I have owned a lot of different computers from different brands. This was my first time with a Lenovo machine. Safe to say that I will never buy a Lenovo product ever again, including even if they use a different brand name or do whatever business "trick".

    Hi, your experience sounds unfortunate.
I have a Lenovo t44s bought 2nd hand for travelling a couple of years ago- no issues- used daily now.

    1. Windows build number please- as you were prompted by the forum when you posted.
    2. PC model number.. specs.. tutorials available.

Click 'My computers' under my post for comparison.

Would you be willing to either
    - perform a factory restore
    or (better?)
    - clean install Win 10 with nothing added?

Why? You indicate total dissatisfaction, and that there may be a number of issues, so could spend time trying to help and end up simply wasting your time.

Please post a screenshot like this:

What do you want to happen when you close the lid?

    1. Windows 10 Home, Version 1809, OS build 17763.1217
    2. , 1080p screen and discrete GPU by AMD.

When I close the lid and come back after 20-30 minutes or more, then open the lid again, the computer should be able to be used. But it is not.. the light on the power button is on but the screen does not come on no matter how many keys I press and how long I wait. So, I then have to force the hardware to shut down by keeping the power button pressed, which is bad for the machine. Then I start the computer up again.

That shouldn't help because both of the problems in lime color from my opening post existed when the machine was brand new and being used for the first time.

    Thank you for your reply.

On that basis, I suggest you dispose of it.

What sort of help were you expecting? I can only offer consolation then. Good luck.

In case it makes a difference, I use laplock on my Lenovo brand notebook PC. I have it set up to be a startup program.

    Wow.

You are the most rude person .. and I am shaking my head.

If this forum has a block feature: I am blocking you.

What do you mean "What sort of help were you expecting?" What, are you that incompetent of a technologist to help? There are lots of hardware and software that have problems from the get go but there are also lots of competent people who know how to mend those problems.

You are bad for this web forum.
To anyone else who sees this thread, I am still happy to see your help if you are happy to help. Please do not be put off by that rude person.

Not sure why the need to use a third party program to lock the laptop. There's a setting in power option to do that. Personally I would remove it. I would also turn off fast start-up for now. I don't use Lenovo but I see that they have a diagnostics app. Have you run that to check for issues?

I will look into both of what you have posted there. Thank you, honestly.

I will not do that, because this has happened:

I already solved that BSoD by performing a system restore (I stated that in my opening post). Thanks still.

As the Lenovo site is pretty easy to get your required drivers I would go with one of dalchina's suggestions and do a fresh install of Windows 10 after backing up all of your data. Installing only the drivers needed for non working hardware if any.
