Windows 10 -Thumbnails and shortcuts loading slowly in folders
Constantly, over multiple installations, I've been having issues with the loading of thumbnails, so much so that I've just come to the conclusion that it's a standard issue with Windows 10. Several times a day, whenever I open my download folder or other picture folders, Windows reloads the thumbnails, which makes my attempts to locate the files I need slower. I just assumed that it was because of how large the folders are, and I gave up on it, but for a while, I've been having issues with an even smaller folder.
I have like 15 games on my computer, installed on both drives, and I have shortcuts to them on the desktop, but in order to keep it uncluttered, I keep them all in a folder. Several times a day, as I open the folder to play one of the games, Windows reloads the icons. Some reload instantly, but others take a few good seconds to reload.
It's not a major issue obviously, but seeing the icons reload several times has just become frustrating. I have two SSD's so speed shouldn't be an issue, and I've never faced any such issues on my Mac laptop or when using Linux. I tried all the possible fixes that I could find on the internet - from messing with the permissions that the system has on the Explorer folder, to registry hacks that were supposed to stop Windows from deleting the thumbnail cache and increasing the size of said cache. I changed the Windows Search settings several times and also reindexed all of my files - and all for nothing.
Is there any way to possibly deal with this? Thank you very much for any help!
I'm running Windows 10 Pro Version 1909 Build 18363.836
