    Hello frozensun,

As you discovered, the blue arrows indicate the files are compressed.

Compress or Uncompress Files and Folders in Windows 10

Other than uncompressing the files, you could use the transparent.ico file and method in the tutorial below to remove (hide) the blue arrow icons.

Either the files or the folder the files are in have been compressed by something since that's what the two blue arrows stand for.

It may be possible that Windows 10 was compress instead. You can check to verify using step 3 below.

Compress or Uncompress Windows 10 with Compact OS

Are you able to uncompress the files or folders using option 2 below?

Yep the trick via untickle compress files/folders via general tab works...but windows did it for a lot of my files..
How do I permanently stop Windows 10 from doing this?

    Great news.

I would first check to see if Windows 10 is compressed or not, and uncompress it if so. This will help avoid having to manually uncompress so many.

Just to note, uncompressing them will use up more drive space. If you are low on space, this will make it even lower.

How do I check that? What you mean if Windows is compressed?
I have this problem only on this laptop...why would OS compress itself? Hmmm...
