    Hi Experts, I have logs from Event viewer, Having random shutdowns!

    Hello Experts, I need your help.

    I am helping a friend with his computer. He has a Asus Rog Strix GL-503VD laptop. It's maybe only 2 years old.

    I have helped him install a SSD in it and clean installed windows 10.

    Fully updated drivers. etc.

    He has been playing games, and during when he streams a game through discord his computer freezes and just totally freezes with the sound clicking in frozen mode and the screen just stuck.

    It appears to be when he is doing a lot of things and maybe it's heat? power? ram problem? I'm at a loss on things and where to go next to help him, I've had him do sfc scan now and dism, and a few other health checks.. they all seem fine.. so..

    He can play games some nights with no problems..

    Here is the event viewer logs, the latest crash/freeze he just had was at 507pm on 5/2/2020. You will see the critical error.

    What should I help my friend do to even begin figuring out why this is happening and how to solve it.

    I have posted his logs to show all the events and please let me know if I can share anything else to help him.

    Thanks.

    Post in the BSOD crashes and debugging forum section and run the diagnostic tools suggested in that section.

    Hi Try3,

    So apparently after reading around more people are saying it is this. So I will look at the pages here, but I assume I need to make sure I properly turn off windows updating the driver for good. Because it sounds like most people only temporary turn off the updates. I'm also reading that people undervolt or underclock it.. But that is ridiculous to have to do that to a card that is meant to run at it's default speed.

    Anyway, I will try also posting to the link you said.

    thanks.

    @Napkins333 -

    Tell me, is this an Intel or AMD based system and what CPU?

    Thanks.

    @Compumind

    Hopefully you can see this.. this is his system.. can you see?

    **Also it seems like it was windows update force reinstalling and updating the nvidia drivers.. I have force stopped windows update using the forum here on the stop windows 10 updates search here and used the first option to stop updates with some little program called wmun? or something with a W.. (sorry can't remember the name!)

    so far no crashes.. but we will see..

    Hi.

    If the problem happens again...

    I would download and run this and see what is reported back. You can post a screenshot here. Do not install anything.
