I need help at least identifying what I'm looking at here.

Hey all. I'm a sales manager at a hotel, and I'm trying to use my quarantine down time productively.

Our business center desktops have limited functionality, and we've recently swapped internet providers. What I mean by limited is that once they are turned on there is no desktop. Just our previous logo from before we changed brands, and around the logo there's logo shortcuts for Explorer, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.

The computer itself is a lenovo. I've tried booting up and using F8, and then F11 to open into a safe mode but haven't had any luck. On the sign in screen there's nothing in the bottom right other than an ease of access button.

I'm usually pretty good at solving computer issues, but I don't even know what to call this limited functionality, or if it's some kind of sandbox, a partition, or whatever...

Any points in the right direction on how to get this thing opened back up? We're looking to just have them open and running as regular use desktops for guests.

    Thanks in advance.

I've worked on such a situation in a local "Brand-name motel" and what is seen was set up by the company. Your last paragraph suggests a clean reinstall to get rid of proprietary software or settings. The change of ISP/Internet Service Provider shouldn't be an issue unless the computers were set up to go to the motel's main office via the Internet in which case they or their IT department should be involved.

The main thing I had to watch for was security, up-to-date antivirus and assigned passwords.

Yeah Berton that's my situation. I'm just looking to do a factory reset and start them from scratch, but since I can't see the restart computer option on the bottom right I'm at a loss on how to achieve this.

These are tutorials on safe mode and repair / clean install options in case needed:

    Reset Windows 10
    Custom Install Windows 10
Repair Install Windows 10 with an In-place Upgrade
    Clean Install Windows 10

Boot into Safe Mode on Windows 10

    For clean install:
    a) find a flash drive that you can format (> or = 8 GB)
    b) create a bootable Windows10 iso:

    https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/soft...load/windows10
    Download Windows 10 ISO File
Create Bootable USB Flash Drive to Install Windows 10

Samuria, possibly. But I'm already "trapped" in the kiosk mode, if that is in fact what's set up here. Control alt delete isn't getting me back to a sign in like the link you referenced states though.

Thanks zbook. I think I'm making a stop for a clean flash this afternoon and going the bootable drive route tomorrow.
