    Cannot move random start menu tiles


    I have certain start menu tiles, regardless of size, that can be displaced by other tiles, but if you try to move them anywhere on their own, they just snap back into their original position.

    This condition has existed for me I would say years now. As in the past, the only way I have to deal with it is to revert to a Macrium backup where it behaved normally.

    I could do that now, but it's generally a last resort for a serious issue, not to mention it seems inevitable that it will reoccur in the future, maybe not for a while, but eventually. I would prefer to solve this and save myself the wasted hours of rebuilding time.

    Hi kitpzyxmsir.

    I prefer a more traditional start menu similar to Windows 7, I'm not sure if that might interest you. I've set mine up once and forget it. I use Classic Shell which has endless tweaks if you like or simple default selections to choose from.

Drag and drop doesn't do anything, the tile just disappears an reappears when I release the mouse.
The tiles are inconsistent in placement and trying to order them with the mouse moves other tiles in all directions. I have not tried to do a clean install of 10074 because I have quite a few third party programs installed to make sure they work...
