    cant download zip files even though 7zip is downloaded

    hello, I was trying to download a minecraft server from a server hosting site but whenever I click the download button the file doesn't download to a zip file but instead downloads into some other type of file (picture included) and whenever I open the file an error message pops up (picture also included).

    Have you tried un-zipping the downloaded file or folder with => 7-Zip.

    I hope this helps!

    That looks like the file is actually downloaded, just that you can't open it.

    What is the file extension ? You need to display that to see what type of file it is, to know what program will be required to open it?

    Hi there

    @xhephor

    Have you got some Anti Virus program running which might flag it as containing a trojan or some other nasty payload.

    These days one is advised only to download .zip, .exe or .msi files from 100% trusted websites and NEVER .rar files (those are the most virus ridden of all usually).

    Some web browsers e.g firefox also block or prompt if they think a file is "not commonly downloaded".
    using 7-z on a proper .zip file works 100% of the time --if it doesn't then there's something "not quite kosher" with the zip file.

    Note also some programs like KODI when downloading addons from the repository use their own installers to process a .zip file - so normal extraction is pointless in any case -- it's possible the .zip file is part of your installation process and isn't "typically extractable" via normal processes. You might be missing an installer component etc.

    Cheers
