    Issue with File Transfer

Whenever I transfer files from one internal drive to another they start ok, but then just virtually stop altogether. I have checked both disks and they are healthy. I have formatted and changed leads and data ports but the problem remains. I would love some input had to solve this problem as it's driving me insane

    Windows 10 Pro.

    Hi, welcome to tenforums.

Computer make, model and Windows build number (as requested by the forum when you wrote your post- so we don't have to keep asking) please?

Please get a copy of Hard Disk Sentinel (portable version available) - excellent- can sometimes even comment on cables.

Result right on its GUI- with very helpful text.

    Please advise result.

If you copy a large file back to the SAME drive does the same thing happen?

History - so often not given by posters.

    When did this start?
    What changed before this started?
    - hardware/update/upgrade/installation/uninstallation/cat walked over keyboard/power outage.....

How much free space do you have on C: ?
    How much free RAM?

    You could try something like
Teracopy, Robocopy ... but you shouldn't be experiencing the problem you describe.

CP > File Explorer Options > View > Launch folders windows in a separate process
    If checked, try unchecked
Once I had a non-related problem with file explorer and unchecking solved it.
    Just give it a try.

What actual speed do you get? It seems fast at first as its just reading files into ram. AV can slow it as it will scan on read and write
