    Should I Disable or Enable 8dot3name?


    Should I disable or enable 8dot3name?

    Crucial Storage Executive displayed a warning message in the application saying it should be disabled.

    Windows 10 Version 1909

    @Garyw, but when I disabled it I noticed a decrease in performance. So I am thinking I need to re-enable it. How do re-enable it?

    Open the Command Prompt as a administrator and execute:

    Code:
     FSutil 8dot3name set 0
    0: Allows creation of 8dot3 names for all drives on the system.
