Welcome to TenForums, new members.
We're glad to have you here.
Welcome to Ten Forums willyaye, and John My Dad was in the Navy in '54 willyaye, on the Oriskany. That's when they filmed The Bridges at Toko-Ri. We found out in his yearbook that Alan Shepard was a pilot on there while he was there also (they didn't hang out with the pilots, lol)

Looks like a good outfit here .... lots of help.
I'm in Henderson, Nevada and a Ham Radio operator.
Running W10 on a dell tower.
Just had a Brother printer failure today due to a recent W10 update. I'll post details elsewhere.
Welcome to Ten Forums.
Printer problems have just been added as a known issue for the June 9th cumulative updates, KB4557957 for 2004 and KB4560960 for 1909/1903. Try uninstalling the latest CU.
If you have Pro you can defer or pause updates, for Home you can pause updates. In both you can hide this update.

50 years building and programming and using computers, and not ONE min. stopping to be amazed...
...how HW is getting more reliable and faster...
... and SW never stops, never fails creating 5 NEW issues when updating to solve ONE known issue.
... 50 years ago, we had 1 - max. 2 updates for any (of only 4) OS per year,
today, it's weekly...
... make the calc. for Nr. of issues !!! - THE FUTURE IS BRIGHT for TenForums !!!
I recently had a computer crash. SSD drive failed when my power supply failed and apparently caused something to overheat. I lost my data on the SSD, but after days of trying to get that data back - I gave up -
Bought a new PS. bought a 1TB SSD drive. put it all back together and I'm back up and running but with lots of questions on disk partitioning.
I used to be comfortable with this stuff, but now I'm older and NOT comfortable with doing too much without direction from people who actually know what they're doing.
Let me thank all that will help in advance. looking forward to learning this stuff again.
Welcome to Ten Forums,

I am new here. I am a professor of neuroscience, and I have been running Linux and Windows (Dual boot) on various computers for more than 15 years now. Currently, I am running Linux mint/XFCE on a Lenovo Yoga 2 Pro (i7, 8 gb RAM, 512 gb SSD) with Windows 10 WSL2. Sadly, so far I find the Linux portion of Windows rather useless, but I hope that one day it will be useful beyond demonstrating that Windows can run linux in a virtual environment.
