Thanks Bree. It's always nice to be welcome.
My mentioned skillset is only the tip of the iceberg. At my age (50s) means I've been around for I while. One recent one was completely opposite to the digital world which was setting up a record vinyl manufacturing plant. This drew on my traineeship as an electrical/process engineer in the 80's at AWA (a very large Australian electronic manufacturing firm pre 90's).
One of my first computing achievements was to be the first person probably to program an Apple in Sydney Australia. I was in year 10 (15 years old) and the year was 1978. The computer was an Apple II and the place was Computerland in the city run by a person called Rudi Hoess. I think I spent almost every Saturday there and all of my school holidays. My first program was in Basic and was a version of pong. Eventually I persuaded my school and the P&C to buy a few Apples but they finally turned up a week after I finished high school. Damm!
I would like to thank Rudi for helping me discover the world of computing. There's a good article on him here.
How Rudie brought Apple to Australia

Hello everyone,
My name is Al and I've just joined your community.
I am mainly using Linux and FreeBSD but at work I always should work with Windows and I am always using the tutorials and questions/answers in this forum.
Great community and great jobs by admins and contributors here.
Wish you all the best and health
Hi All! I just joined because I was searching the Internet for something and found it discussed here. I am 71 and a recently retired piano teacher. I have been almost retired for a year and then this virus came along and everyone is on break, but permanently. I know a little bit about computers, but not nearly enough. I just wanted to say "Hi!"
