    Freezes and Black/Blue Screen - 1903 Build 18362.270

Hi, my computer will run normally for hours then randomly freeze and the screens will lose input signal and the HDD LED on my case will begin blinking. The computer does not recover, only a hard reboot brings it back. In Reliability Monitor I usually get a Hardware Error and always get a Windows Shut Down Unexpectedly Error.

It seems to happen regardless of workload (it happened once while clicking on a folder in Explorer for instance, and a couple times while watching a video file in MPC-HC), but it most commonly happens while using Blackmagic Davinci Resolve 16 for some reason, It always happens when I try and export a video file longer than a few minutes. I also use Unreal Engine 4 extensively and I've never had a crash with that.

I've run the DISM.exe scans and no modules came up problematic, and I'm running the latest GPU drivers from AMD (Radeon VII). I've monitored temps, and nothing was out of the ordinary (CPU, GPU, RAM all around 65c or less). I've tried switching the GPU to the secondary PCIe slots on my motherboard as well, crashes still occur. I've just switched power supplies, and that didn't make a difference either.

    Welcome to the TenForums @slavkosky

    Your sfc scan was unsuccessful.

You may have to run sfc up to three times to repair issues.

If after three runs if you still have errors you may have to use DISM or I usually recommend an inplace repair install.

Run SFC Command in Windows 10

Let's see what happens after three runs.

    Have you checked memory?

    MemTest86+ - Test RAM

Hi Ken! Glad to be here! I'll try running SFC three times this time and report back. I ran RAM Test to 200% coverage yesterday, no errors, but I'll try Memtest86+. You recommend Memtest86+ over Memtest86? I have a 12c/24t CPU and 64GB of RAM.

After the first test, It claims to not have found any integrity violations...

Pretty sure either memtest will be okay.

You will need to clear that SFC identified error.

    Problem May Have Been Solved!

I used DDU to uninstall the AMD Catalyst driver and decided to take a chance and install AMD's latest "Pro/Enterprise" GPU driver (which is from late last year) instead of the cutting-edge Consumer Graphics driver (since the Radeon VII is based on an Instinct workstation card) and so far I've gone 24+ hours without incident. Will report back if anything bad happens.

What's happening to your CPU and motherboard temperatures since a high temperature can cause a forced shutdown?

All temps were fine according to HWMonitor I think it may have actually just been a GPU driver issue
