There is nothing wrong with the Refuse Bin in Windows 10, it works perfectly and always has since Windows 98. But there is obviously something wrong with your system! And that's being generous!

Oh, and here's another with the Recycle Bin: the icon will show it has items in it, you empty it, and the icon... stills shows items in it. That's not a polished impressive OS. That's ten years old stuff. And again -- that's being generous.
My recycle bin worked fine until I changed the icon for it a few days ago then it behaved exactly as you describe. I Googled the issue, found a simple registry change needed to be made and now it works fine again. Sometimes you just have to search for a solution.

Never come across this phenomenon. Must've been something wrong with your system. User fault/error.

Sorry. I really don't care if you've come across this or not. Because I don't recognize you as an authority.
I don't want to get dragged into an 'Mac vs Windows' slanging match (if only not to alienate my daughter and son-in-law, staunch Mac users). But I can confirm this one point. Sometimes you need to use F5 to refresh the view after emptying the Recycle bin.

Here's a Recycle Bin that has just been emptied (indicated by the 'Empty Recycle Bin' icon being greyed-out).

Always a good gambit in any discussion - open with a statement lauding with faint praise, then launch into the unsubstantiated criticisms. So that when challenged, fall back on the ersatz claim of support.
You're suffering from binary thinking. If someone doesn't praise something %100 they're a troll! Decisions and positions aren't as simple as that.

I way prefer the PC and Android hardware choices and pricing. With Apple I could only afford one PC. Either an iMac or a laptop, but not both. If I were to shop for both right now it would cost me this.

Because of my eyesight a 21.5 inch desktop no longer cuts it. Apple only offers 27 inches as the next step up, and with it, comes a ton of spec I may or may not want. Apple wants it because the price climbs. This is the same thing with their laptops. To get something bigger than 13 inches costs $$$.

So I'd settle for one PC, my wife a laptop. For $6621. The price of a used car. (I always add extended warranty.)

In the PC world? It's not even a contest.

I broke the iMac into a powerful Mini PC and a 2K 25 inch monitor (that I currently use). I splurged on the laptop and got a 17 incher. (I know 15 inch Asus Vivobooks which are fine for $699.) I even threw in a Mini Mini PC from Beelink for my TV (something I actually did). And so call that 3 PCs for $3230 or half price.

Although I consider the Mac OS superior doesn't mean Windows is unusable. Which is why I commented in the first place, since the original poster implied nobody could use it. Again, yep, IMO anyone can. Mac OS isn't worth $3391 more. ($400? Sure.)

Android hardware? It's hilarious. While too many are caught up in the binary debate of Samsung VS. Apple (Which is worth paying through the eyeballs to own and hopefully never break or misplace?) I've been laughing all the way to the bank on Chinese offerings. OnePlus and Xiaomi dance glorious circles around most iPhones in the bang for buck sense.

This is the brand new Redmi K30 Pro Global. This means if you have ATT or TMobile or Metro or the like GSM carrier you're all set. It's not meant to compete with iPhone 11 but the pathetic iPhone 8 at the same pricepoint. It's no contest.

Their Redmi Note 9S is a $200 phone that obliterates any of Apple's cheap phones.

The above reviewer (and others) have issues with the 9S. But the phone is so new it usually takes two months to update the system properly to address most headaches.
