Why does MS replace the files I have pinned in Quick Access?

    Running Windows 10, Version 1909, build 18363.752.

There was not enough room in the title to complete my question, so here goes. File Explorer opens to Quick Access and This PC. I have several files I use often pinned to Quick Access and the list of Desktop, Documents, Downloads, etc. under This PC. That's the way I like and want it.

However, every time there is a cumulative update File Explorer then opens to Quick Access pinned with Desktop, Documents, Downloads, etc.-yes, the same files as under This PC-rather than the files I had originally pinned. I don't need/want those files twice, so I unpin all of them and re-pin the files I want in Quick Access until the next cumulative update.

It sure would be nice if I didn't have to do that. Maybe some setting to change or turn off, or a registry hack.

    Any ideas or suggestions? TIA

I do not know how you can be pinning files to Quick access because this is normally only able to use folders.

I have never had a Cumulative update reset Quick access.

I think that I have misunderstood your question so please correct me & post screenshots illustrating what you are referring to.
