    Custom built PC may have died.


    If my old desktop with a validated Windows 10 Pro OS has died and must be replaced with a new custom built PC, will my Windows 10 be usable on the new PC or must I buy another new Windows 10 OS?

    It depends, the version that comes with an OEM/Brand computer is tied to only that computer but the Retail version normally used on Custom-built computers can be transferred to a Replacement computer but can't be installed/used on both at the same time.

    Also, if the PC did have some sort of catastrophic crash.....a phone cal to MS explaining said situation, MS may reactivate it for you. I have done this personally when replacing failed HDD's on laptops as well with CPU failures on some OEM and Custome built towers.
