Saving a printscreen

Your pics should be saved in C:\Users\[YOUR USERNAME]\Pictures\Screenshots.

When you press WIN+PrtSc, you should see the screen blink. If not, then you may be running an older instance of Windows 10 that does not support this feature yet. I am on this build:

It is also possible that PrnSc is tied to same button as your multimedia function keys. In this case you need to press WIN+FN+PrnSc

It is difficult to save screenshots to the clipboard before Windows has loaded, before clicking the login button, usually can't. For those not around 'back then' the PrntScrn key did send the screen to the attached printer but beginning with Win95 and the changing technology [think USB instead of LPT/PRN/Parallel ports] the key evolved into what we now use associated with the Windows clipboard and Snippy plus its replacement Snip and Sketch.

You can get all the Windows Spotlight pictures seen on the login screen by going to:

C:\Users\[YOUR USERNAME]\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.Windows.ContentDeliveryManager_cw5n1h2txyewy\LocalState\Assets

Sort the files by size and copy all the files that are over 100KB in size over to another folder. Then add the .jpg extension to every file you just copied, and you have your spotlight pictures nicely saved in your own folder.





EDIT: i don't have Windows Spotlight enabled so I don't have the pictures you are looking for, but the process is the same.

Those are the pretty pictures seen on your Login Screen that change every now and then.

They are what you see when booting Windows, usually has some white text as whether you like what is being shown or not.
