KB4541335 caused a desktop display problem?

I just had a baffling experience, thus the title stated as a question

On 3/24/20 I installed KB4541335, the 2020-Cumulative Update and

it installed and worked fine...

Then, the last day or two, whenever I opened an application the desktop world disappear

Desktop was still there, Rt-click on Taskbar & Show Desktop brought it back

I first noticed it after exiting web browser that had been full screen (Opera)

So, put on my troubleshooting cap

First I uninstalled the last update (KB4541335) and everything now worked. Tested it and desktop stayed showing even with complex server logon boxes

So, liking pain, I re-installed KB4541335 and this time the desktop worked normally

So, faulty update or maybe something broke after a few days ?

I updated 4 days ago and it started messing up yesterday

Really hate intermittent problems, if that's what this is

BTW, my PC is configured lean & mean for gaming using Only native Windows control panels

That is why it is Optional. It is a D release so IT personnel can check it out before Update Tuesday which will get the same fixes. I will wait for Update Tuesday.

Update on "Beta" KB4541335, the 2020-Cumulative Update

It broke again. desktop gone

So, I uninstalled it and will wait for the official release

One feature Of Windows 10 I really appreciate, no re-booting into "safe" mode to uninstall a defective update
