In Search o Solutions to these Reinstall-Resistant Errors

I am new to windows 10 and would like to know whether my experience is a common one and, if so, what the best solution is to a problem like this. By "this," I mean the manifestation of these problems at the same time

    1. Greyed out apps. Inability to open Photos, Skype, and a few other apps. The majority, however, works fine,

    2. Resetting the app does nothing. The apps continue nont to function

    3. Microsoft Store is grayed-out too. All the steps to reset it failed. The path to the cache folder, when followed, shows that the cache folder itself is missing. Troubleshooter shows no problems.

    4. Unable to install anything from outside the Store either. Attempts end with the Microsoft Store being called but not responding.

    5. Powershell is missing. The app doesn't exist, and so solutions that involve the Powershell cannot be undertaken.

    6. Safemode leads to empty screen. All the various "modes" of safemode, lead to a splash screen with a moveable mousecursor but missing the fields to enter the login credentials.

    7. Factory-reset doesnt solve the problem. Erasing all personal files and software and reinstallirg the entire system using the various built-in utilities do not solve any of these problems. The same apps are grayed out, the same components are missing, the same functions fail, etc.

This laptop seems to have rid itself of the functions it doesn't want to perform, and then disabled the means by which these actions can be undone. Very weird.

    Welcome to the TenForums @giotavanlar

Which edition, version, build of Windows 10 are you running?

Right click Start, click run, type Winver, enter

I ask as I want to be sure this is not Windows 10 S

Is this a new device or a device you upgrade?

Do you have a Microsoft Account?....If so download the 1909 ISO from UUPDump and after installation sign in.
All your files and settings will be restored.

Ken, Winver info shows the following:

Windows 10 Home in S Mode
    VERSION 1903 (OS BUILT 18362.720) Copyright 2019

This is a new device. Not an upgrade.

One problem is that you have Windows 10 in "S Mode". It is a very restrictive version of Windows 10 and will not let you install any programs outside the MS Store. Did you willingly purchase the computer with that version of Windows? If not get it out of "S Mode". See this (https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/...-out-of-s-mode).

Thanks for responding. Thought that S mode might be involved.

It is a special Edition that aims to keep all things bad off your system.

If you switch out of S mode you cannot go back. That said S mode is so restrictive that it will likely drive you crazier.

I took a customer's machine of S mode and never looked back.

He is an excellent tutorial on removing S mode.

Switch out of S mode in Windows 10 for Free
