How To Write The Infinity Symbol (∞) ?

I have an AutoHotkey script running all the time. I added the following as a new line so the middle mouse button inserts the infinity symbol as a Unicode character:

Code:

MButton::SendInput {U+221E}

Saves remembering the ALT code or opening Character Map.

Like nearly all MS products, notepad does support Unicode. But it doesn't support this input mechanism.

The code is 221E. You enter it just lke that. It's a four (hex) digit code for a Unicode character. It doesn't work in Notepad (no Unicode support, apparently). It also doesn't seem to work directly in a Web browser (Edge Chromium, Chrome). I can use it in MS Word 2019, and copy and paste the result into a web browser.

Seems like there should be an easier way.

Wow...! very nice... thanks. And so many useful symbols, now easily found.

I think my Character Map has just met it's match. And here I thought Win + period was just for those far less necessary emoticons.
