Don't know what/where these files belong

Just received an email from my brother asking what these files are in a folder on the D: drive named Assets, where do they belong to and can they be deleted?

    OS Windows 10 Home

    File explorer >Local Disk > D: drive > Assets

The jpg files can be opened but the other files cannot.

    Any thoughts?

Somebody has copied daily pictures from Spotlight folder to this location. Maybe some app, or was it done manually.

You can open files without extension, if you rename them from file. to file.jpg

    You can delete them

Is there any way of finding out to which software these files belong to?

Did you renamed it to file.jpg?

open command prompt in this folder, and type

    Code:
    ren *. *.jpg

Command Prompt is not an option only PowerShell is set as an option

That would not open the command prompt in the desired folder?
