The bios menu is separate, older ones use only keyboard, newer use both keyboard and mouse. Whether it is Windows,Linux, etc.is irrelevant.

From what I read on that page the Bios reads the boot info from the EFI partition.

The bios looks for something to boot from.e.g.cd/dvd,hdd ,usb etc, before Windows even starts. That is the boot menu referred to and is the controlling and changeable option. It is accessed using a Function key.

If it's not reading the boot options in the EFI partition than were is it getting the option to boot into Linux?

The intention of Post 1,final paragraph---Bios also shows Ubuntu option---is to get rid that option from the bios menu, which is how I read it anyway. If I'm misreading it,please highlight my error.
