File and folder count are incorrect after copy

Another strange thing. If I copy the folder with the pdf files to internal disk - it works without question to replace the ~4.pdf. I can then also see the file.

If I copy the folder with the files directly to a external disk or a usb drive I got the question to replace the file and I can't see the file after copy. Just tested on a new win10 laptop. I'll will go for a try with Live Ubuntu just now.

Ah, yes, reading the whole thread now ...

I find that Robocopy COPY/MOV operation can result in some files being hidden after the process is complete (Why? I dinna ken ....). It seems to happen a lot if I interupt the process, and/or go into the source/destination folders to check how many files left/copied/moved during the process.

Hence my Robocopy command lines always now include /a-:rsh​ which resets the attributes to unhide/unsystem/unread-only all copied/moved files.

Looking at the (redacted) screenshots and just considering the file sizes, and since the 2nd shows more files, I will assume is the source, I note:
2nd shows 2x196kb files, 2x355kb files
1st shows 2x355kb files, 1x196kb file.

That suggests the missing file is 196kb - yet the one you mention as a problem xxxxxx~4.pdf is 355kb.

I find that confusing..you can see the filenames, so perhaps you can understand more.

It's the one that is 355kb that is "missing".

Yes it's there but it's hidden somehow.

Now I discovered another thing. It worked open the file with the destination path + filename from Start > Search.
