    Hi there
You really need something fairly Pro -- this is one area where the Dreaded Fruit company might come up with better options -- I've heard good things about APPLE Final Cut Pro but it's around 300 USD and seems to do what a lot of people require.

(Probably the first time in recorded history that I've ever recommended an APPLE product !! - but I've done several pro photoshoots and for Video / and press etc and also publishing (Pro levels) Apple still has a significant presence).

Adobe Premier Pro CC is also a good one - but also at a Stratospheric price. !!although it's gone subscription now ("Creative Cloud" ) which is why I don't like it - but you could get the last "proper release". !!

(At a more consumer level - Handbrake is fine once you've got your basic Video stream for final transcoding - and it can easily add multiple audio tracks and multiple sub title files too).

    Cheers

If you are talking about paid software I have had some success with Cyberlink Power Director. It is priced below $100. It actually came bundled with my HP laptop. Probably the only useful bit of bloatware I've seen.

    Hi

I've used Adobe Premiere Elements for a long time.
None of the editing programs I've tried are perfect, but it works the best for me.
I've tried a lot of them.

It will do all the things that you want, run multiple audio and video tracks, auto sound leveling behind speech, many types of transitions, change speed while keeping audio at the same pitch, blend tracks etc.

It will allow you to do a very professional looking job at a reasonable price.

Your best bet would be to download the trial version and try it.
It's always worked well for me, but a lot of people have computer issues with it.
It does take a lot of power to run it smoothly.

No risk if it doesn't work you aren't out anything.

If you can get a copy of PE 10 I would recommend that over 12.
I'm using 12, but I really liked 10 and have both installed on my computer.

    Hi Dave.

A little quiet around here but things will heat up when the beta starts.

Right. very large number of posts, but none relating to Windows 9. For that reason I am an infrequent visitor. I have little interest in all the various "games", currently on the site.Wait for the first "leaks"

I'm using Premiere Pro CC 2014 software for film editing. After installing latest Windows 10 build 10041, my Premiere started crashing.
I tried installing latest graphic drivers, nothing helped. I ran Windows compability troubleshooter and it announced that my application is
    incompatible with Windows 10.

I'm in the middle of editing 2 short films and now i'm stucked. I don't want to reinstall Windows 8 again in order to use my editing software.
I hope this problem gets fixed, i know it's not going to happen right away. As Microsoft and Adobe are now collaborating with Spartan browser, i hope
there's correspondence between them about application compability issues also.
