context menu print option missing for .txt files (notepad++)

So i just ran across my txt files not having the right-click print option. pdf's do, word files do etc. Just nothing for basic old .txt files.

Seems odd and the only thing I can think of is the fact i changed notepad++ to be my editor for them.

Anyone know where this is added in the registry?

Can you post an image of what you're doing cause I can right click and print without issue. And for clarity, when you say "txt files" are you talking Notepad?

Nevermind I see you're talking Notepad++ I don't have that program currently installed so I can't test it.

When you open a .txt in notepad++, isn't there a 'ribbon' across the top featuring a printer?

there is. and i can print that way just fine. its just not present in the context menu to be able to do so.

i think perhaps something is wrong with my print command? here's the string if anyone versed wants to take a look.
not sure if that would cause it to not be available in the context menu or not.

thank you, but i wasnt looking to add it to the send-to menu. Simply right clicking on a file (or group of files) with the .txt extension should bring up the option to print. RIght along side, open, edit, and everything else.

I just switched the text handler back to conventional notepad, and the option was there and functional, so im all but certain it has something to do with the print portion of the registry under txtfile relative to notepad++

I don't think there is an option to right click, print from the program. I just installed the latest version of Notepad++ and see the same thing you see - no right click. And yeah, you can print from within the program.

I don't think there is anything wrong with the program other than the developer simply didn't provide a right click print feature. That said, I suggest you contact the developer for further clarification.

    Good luck.

With this batch script you can remove or add Print to context menu.

This key is surely strange. This is mine for notepad (yours is pointing to dropbox..)
    Code:
    %SystemRoot%\system32\NOTEPAD.EXE /p %1

correct, thats the print command if using conventional notepad.

i had changed mine to notepad++ ala "C:\Users\klepp\Dropbox\Downloads\Windows\Development\Text Editors\Notepad++\notepad++.exe" /p "%1" which is where my notepad++ exe is located.

perhaps that was never baked in. I'll have to contact the dev, could very well be the case.

even items (such as .reg files) where the print command does show up. Using it results in

context menu print option missing for .txt files (notepad++)-image.png

im going to assume either the command is diff for notepad++ or its not even possible. Put in the ticket with the dev will reply here for future gluttons-for-punishment :P
