    Help my downloads file keeps saying access denied


    So i was trying to move my downloads file from c drive to d drive. I messed up and found this thread

    i used the bat file solution and now i dont have access to my downloads file

    is it possible to undo the bat file
    cause now im getting access denied problems when trying to open downloads file

    Did you notice it says:
    It is highly recommended to create a system image backup first to make it easy to undo if you were to make a mistake in the steps below.
    I asked for that statement to be added to those tutorials because we keep getting posts where people make mistakes using the Location tab. But you mention 'the bat file solution'. What is that please? No link provided.

    You say 'Downloads file' - do you mean the Downloads library folder?

    Time and again tenforums members recommend the use of disk imaging routinely and regularly e.g. Macrium reflect free + large enough external storage.

    Do you have either a System Restore point you could use or a disk image you can restore?

    Do you know to where you moved the content of your Downloads folder? Can you see or find those files anywhere?

    There is a safer option- create your own folders on a second drive and then, if you wish, add them to a library. You can also create your own library. Tutorials available.
