win10 lenovo w520 mouse pointer changes all the time randomly

hello seems like often, when i leave the laptop alone for hours, when i come back somehow, the mouse pointer changes, i end up having to change the mouse pointer and everytime i reboot, i have to redo this...

reinstalled everything fresh from win10 since the first time it was win7 to win10 upgrade and i thought maybe the upgrade made a mistake

anyone have an idea what happening?

Have you tried testing with another mouse? Just out of curiosity, how does the pointer change? Does it change colour? Size?

Well instead of being the usual arrow it becomes the icon when scrolling on the edges of the touch pad... Tried different mouses...

try going to a program or webpage to see if your cursor causes the page to scroll when you move it. That way we can see if its just a visual change or if that scrolling function is somehow stuck on

The mouse works fine, it's just the pointer that is different

go into your pointer settings and see if you have the default Windows scheme on. It seems like your computer might be defaulting to a modified scheme

Go into your touchpad settings and disable vertical scrolling (the function that pointer is associated with). I'm still wondering if there's not something wrong with that particular function

    try disabling autoscrolling as well

Can you try enabling the Pointer Shadow (if not already) and see if that helps?
