Trying to play and edit DVD Videos in VOB format (Win10)

Running Win10 Pro on my desktop and trying to edit some old vides I made and saved to DVD.

Pulled out some old family videos I created a few years back which are written to DVD in VOB format.

Now that I'm using Win10 Pro it seems I can't get them to play.
I have tried installing K-lite codex but still doesn't play.

I know I can use a 3rd party software to convert to something else but at the moment I just want to play them and edit them in Adobe Premiere Elements 2020.

Any video Editors out there?
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Play them with VLC - no conversion will be needed.

In Windows 10 WMP refuses to play DVDs [by design] so it is probably seeing the VOBs and deciding that you are trying to play a DVD. VOBs don't play in mine either but I have lots of MPEG/MPEG2 recordings in .ts files and they play alright in WMP.

A note: Windows Media Center was discontinued with Win10 but Windows Media Player is a different program, still shows in Start, W section and Windows Accessories. I frequently use WMP for .mp3 and .m4a audio and VLC for Video.

Boy I feel stupid. Still trying to learn with this Win10 so please be nice.
You are probably correct and have gone to the MS Store and selected the MPEG-2 extension but that all it does.
It says I own it but I have no idea what to do next.

Please help this ole guy figure out how to get his MPEG-2 extension and install.

Open the MS Store and select 'Downloads and updates' from the three dots menu (top right). In 'All owned' if it says 'Launch' to the right it is already installed, if it says 'Install' then click on it to install. If it is installed, then has it helped in your Adobe Premiere Elements 2020?

Once installed the codec should be available to all apps. For example, with it installed I can watch .VOB files in Windows Media Player but if I uninstall it WMP can only play the audio track form a .VOB.

Yes I just downloaded and installed the 64 bit version.
So sad MS doesn't want to add a player any more.
Oh well.
