The only reason I mention the account is that a Windows update recently was causing people to be signed into a temporary account, your password manager may be installed for all users but the list of passwords would be user specific, therefore the blank password list suggests a different account.![]()
"Can you check you are signed into the correct account and not a temporary account?"
How do I do that?
Start Menu should show who is login as a user.
Just to clarify - normally, when you would access Roboform, would you access it as a desktop app or browser extension? Recent versions give you an all-in-one suite that installs an app and browser extensions. If you look in a browser that is other than your default, do the Roboform extension/passwords appear?
Here is what it would look like on Edge: Why isn't the RoboForm extension appearing in Edge? – RoboForm
If using extensions, extensions could have been turned off
If using desktop app, syncing could have been turned off (more info: Why can I no longer sync with RoboForm Desktop? – RoboForm)
By any chance, did the Roboform license have an expiration date?
Sorry, I can't see the relevance of all those questions.
The extension appears in Chrome, Firefox, and Internet Explorer.
I have never used Edge, or even looked at it.
The questions are relevant, because there are a lot of possible reasons that your Roboform passwords could have disappeared, and you seemed to want to know why. So, we can try to narrow it down.
Now that we know that you were using Roboform as a browser extension, do the passwords appear in ANY of the browsers? Or did they disappear from ALL the browsers?
If they disappeared from all of the browsers, you can check and see if the Roboform extension has been disabled in one of the browsers as a test case. The Edge article was just an example - the Roboform support page has instructions for re-enabling the extension in other browsers.
If the extension is still enabled (you can’t tell just because it is still present - you have to check your browser’s extension settings):
1. Did you run any pc cleaning software before the problem started happening?
2. Did you run any security or tweaking software (besides Malware Bytes) just before the problem started happening?
3. Does your Windows Updates history reflect an update just before the problem started? Esp. does it show that you just moved from one major release of Windows to a new one (from version 1903 to 1909, for example)?
4. Are you running a licensed version of Roboform, and did the license just expire, causing you to lose sudden access to your passwords?
You can also manually start Roboform. Go to start and look at the alphabetical listings of programs and see if the Roboform shortcut is showing. Or hold the Windows key +S and in the Search box type Roboform and manually start it. Then it should put the extension back.
