@reddwarf4ever Perhaps you could show us a screenshot of Macrium R open showing what's available on your disk image.
= restore that (Windows partition from your disk image file- assuming it's there) alone..install that alone

Ok will look at this ......what about the HDD bbs priorities field being unpopulated in the bios, doesn’t that look wrong ???

Unfamiliar with that, sorry.
What does the controller BIOS option "BBS Support" do?
You said your PC boots ok if you clean install Win 10...

Ran Linux Mint from a USB pen, it shows a BOOT HDD but when I double click on the windows folder I get an error, but it displays properties ok.
not sure what that means

In desperation, I removed the bios battery to reset the BIOS, the Hard drive BBS priorities is now populated with all my hard drives......did another MR image restore, but same result as before.....tried a Windows 10 USB and doing a repair, it now says it’s fixing errors and could be over an hour......wish I knew what was going wrong and what I need to do to fix this.....

Well, I tried something I should have tried 2 days ago.....I tried restoring a much older MR image and it Worked !!!
so although resetting the bios populated the hard drive BBS priorities field, which is good, it seems two or more of my image backups were corrupt, even though the verify option confirmed they were ok.....so hardly anything lost really....only 2 days of my life....I was about to pay someone to look at it and would have been a waste of money......think will only do FULL backups in future, first time o tried incremental backups, maybe not so reliable......thanks Everyone for all the help and advice
