Why does Forbes think Windows 10 is worse than bubonic plague?

The several Windows 10 devices we have in our family have at least 15-20 combined years of use on the operating system, and, essentially, have all run flawlessly. No hiccups, no surprises, no quirks, no headaches.

But in the "google news feed" on my phone, every day, there is some new story, usually from Forbes, about how Windows 10 is about as good for humanity as coronavirus, and its use as wise as a steady diet of opiods. For example, most or all of the articles in site:forbes.com "windows 10" - Google Search

It's like Forbes has a team of writers assigned solely to whip up baseless anxiety about Windows 10.

How does one explain this disparity, 15-20 combined years of headache-free coexistence for our family, versus the Forbes perpetual "sky-is-falling" coverage?

How does one explain the disparity between CNN and FOX News? And I also agree, 10 computers in my house, on my network, rock steady with Windows 10.

Because you would not have clicked on the link if they said it was like a runny nose.

Quickly scanning the articles by the author (Gordon Kelly) he seems to tend towards being an Apple fanboy. To each his own, but I could never figure out why anybody would turn an operating system into a religion. Life's too short!

An operating system, or a product line, or a company!

Because I only see the articles on my phone, and am not as adept searching on a phone as on a computer, I'd not even done the basic author check.

And yes, I sort of thought that the articles were about 99.5% clickbait and 0.5% substance, based on my own experience with Windows 10. So I'm marking the thread as solved.

Clickbait or just some crank with a thing for bashing Microsoft. I'm hardly a Microsoft fanboy, but if this guy want to be a "champion of the people," he has much juicier targets these days: Facebook (!!!), Google, Amazon, the entire online tracking ecosystem. Did I say he should really go after Facebook and Google?

During the Windows 10 Preview period I investigated one of those Forbes blogs** in some detail and I reached the firm conclusion that Gordon Kelly was deliberately writing false, sensationalist articles as click-bait to gain advertising revenue. I will never again click on any Forbes link or trust any information originating from there.

** The one about Windows 10 being an interim measure after which MS would force everybody to pay to subscribe to a follow-on Windows OS.

Forbes uses inflammatory and sensational headlines to draw viewers to it's website. I avoid that site like the plague. I's all about the advertising revenue on their site not integrity.

Agreed. I search daily at news.google.com with "Windows 10" as my search string. There's a continuous string of "Win10-sky-is-falling" items from forbes. Here's what comes up when I zero the search in on that site right now:

So much for journalistic integrity, eh?
