Why does Forbes think Windows 10 is worse than bubonic plague?

Forbes writes click bait. On every topic.

That said, if all these claims that 'Windows works perfectly for ten years" were true, this kind place would be a ghost town.

I think if you learn how to take care of your PCs, replace them appropriately (instead of waiting for components to die) and you don't do stupid installs on them -- they work pretty good all things considered.

Windows 10 could use a couple thousand improvements, but as is it's pretty okay.

Quickly scanning the articles by the author (Gordon Kelly) he seems to tend towards being an Apple fanboy. To each his own, but I could never figure out why anybody would turn an operating system into a religion. Life's too short!
The Operating system is merely the wasted time until we actually get down to doing what we turned on the computer for

    You can quote me.....

I personally have had good luck with my first safari in Windows 10 land

    Forbes does Hype in Spades

To be honest.... If you aren't adept at using at least 2 operating systems you aren't a Guru. A FanBoy maybe, but way short of GuruHood

Agreed. I search daily at news.google.com with "Windows 10" as my search string. There's a continuous string of "Win10-sky-is-falling" items from forbes. Here's what comes up when I zero the search in on that site right now:

So much for journalistic integrity, eh?

I am probably dating myself, but I remember when Forbes was a serious business magazine known for factual accuracy. But Malcolm Forbes passed away in 1990.

    Hi folks

couple of these companies have been writing this rubbish for YEARS !!!! - Windows with all its faults just WORKS for the vast majority of people who use it -- not referring to the rather more computer literate folk on these Forums -- 99% of users out there just want to switch the box on and have it working -- and usually it does pretty well too.

The only area where I really have major hassles with Windows is with the latest versions of W10 where sometimes getting networking to function properly seems to have evolved little beyond "Gandalf the Wizard" and Black magic days. -- Older TV's, satellite boxes, roku/chrome/amazon boxes/ rasbian devices etc often still use the older SMB1 protocol -- Windows deprecating that (probably for good security reasons) has caused no end of grief for loads. !!!

There's far too much "vested interest" in the Security industry these days -- 99% of it ISN'T NEEDED on HOME NETWORKS !!!! Windows defender with the current real time scanning protection is MORE THAN SUFFICIENT for 99% of home users who don't go tinkering around or logon to dubious websites -- Protection against identity theft and other types of scams are much more important these days and this can't really be achieved with typical Anti Virus software -- eventually sophisticated A.I algorithms might be able to do the trick but we are a long way off that scenario yet --Human Brain wins out every time in those scenarios currently !!!.

So Forbes please go back into your nasty little hole and just SHUT UP !!! nobody having even a smidgen of knowledge about computers would trust you any more than giving all of one's own spare money to The Mafia for "a fabulous investment" !!.

    Cheers
