    How To Keep Settings

    Hello,
When I'm browsing through my photo albums on my PC I always have to change the thumbnails from 'Details' to 'Large Icons'. How do I get to the point where I don't always have to do this ? I want 'Large Icons' to be the default setting. This only started after the latest update.

    Hello Wallace,

You could see if setting a default folder view for all folders or just folders using the same template (ex: Pictures) may work for this.

    Change Images Not Folders

It's the images I want to change to 'Large Icons'. Anytime I open a folder 'Details' seems to be the default setting. It's not the folders I want to change, it's the images.
Please see screenshots and you'll see what I mean.
This should be easy. It's just that I don't know how to do it.
I had a look at your links but either it doesn't work or I don't understand it properly.

From my understanding, you're wanting to change the folder view layout to use "Large icons" instead of "Details".

Is this E: drive a removable drive?

If so, this would explain why. Folder view settings are not saved for removable drives.

    Large Icons

Yes, I wish to change from Details to large Icons.
    Yes, it's a removable drive.
Before this latest upgrade/update to Windows 10 whenever I went into my folders I saw Large Icons.
So why should things now be any different ?
Just tried a method suggested on your link - it seems to have worked.....on a removable drive.
    Thanks for your help.

Hmm. I just tested on a removable USB flash drive, and it remembered my folder view settings for it even after disconnecting and reconnecting it and restarting the computer.

You could see if resetting folder view settings back to default may help, but you will have to manually set them again afterards.

    It works.

As I said in my previous post - everything seems to be working fine now. Thanks.
