Clearly @jimbo45, we all know what Calibre is, EVERYONE knows what Calibre is who has any eBooks. Some of us just chose NOT to use it. Like how you know what Windows is, but you choose to run Linux. To each their own. Sometimes its about having the choice TO use something else.

@Unknow0059 can you DM me a book or two that is now showing up thumbs so we can examine the contents and find out why?

Edit: your link to the MobiHandler is broken, but I found it. I am unsure about including the mobi handlers in DarkThumbs. I hired a coder to do the updates to CBXShell, cost a bit but I thought the world deserved to finally have this feature. However if someone wanted to donate to the cause, I am pretty sure with Alissa's source code which appears to also be C++, I could get DK101 to do the merging.

    Hi there
Actually some people don't know about it -- the whole point of these posts is to often provide details of things people are unaware of --if you already know about things and are experienced - then just ignore the post. Actually the OP gave me a rep point for mentioning calibre

seems always those newer members with very few posts just seem to like berating other people's efforts.
Constructive criticism is usually OK - destructive moans and rants are just a waste of space and time.

    Cheers

I'm sorry... did the post ask for a eBook management software? A program that will browse covers of photos? A cross compatible way to view thumbnails?

It also seems that those who have a billion posts are usually the ones to ignore the topic of the thread, choose not to read all the actual posts, of which #3 AND #7 and mentions Calibre as an option then post whatever pops into their head... We don't need more post count padding or ego boosting. This thread was asking for "show miniature covers of these ebook files in the windows explorer" to which the OP expands on in great detail to what he wants. Thumbnails IN windows explorer not a program to view book covers. But whatever, glad you got your rep points..

@Unknow0059 got the books, the covers all work for me. Maybe change the cover image sorting to sorting Alphabetically?

Strange. Well, doing that doesn't seem to have had any effect.

    Hi everyone,

Thanks Logarithmic for the great Tool!

I have many Epub Books that are not showing the "cover.jpg" picture but the first picture alphabetically. It is possible to change it with Metadataeditor but maybe I did something wrong in the first place. Does anybody have the same problem? Is there a fix available? Thanks

The program actually does not look for random images. It parses the opt file to find the cover. It may be having issues because of the German language.

Unfortunately the guy who coded a lot of the newest features. Has moved on to other projects. So I'd need to find someone who can fix it. Assuming it's broken.

Also note for anyone reading this looking for answers about why explorer is crashing when using DarkThumbs. I've found in rare occasions. Thay. Explorer will crash if the epub contained like a bazillion files inside it. I had some study guides with this issue. I tried everything. Just had to change their extension lol.

Thanks Logarithmic! I am still not sure if I did something wrong registrywise. Would it be possible for you to make a simple step by step guide. I think many users would be extremely gratefull for this. I would have sent you a pm but since I am a new member this option is not available.
