Should be as easy as. Install. Check the formats you want covers for. The end. Maybe upload a few of the books that don't work and post a link. I'll look at them this evening if I get a chance so we can see if it's you. Or if it's the books themselves

Just deinstalled/reinstalled again and it's working now nearly 100%. Only some rare cases I need to investigate a little more. These could be solved with Epub Metadata Editor easily. Thanks again for this great tool Logarithmic! Much appreciated!

The program actually does not look for random images. It parses the opt file to find the cover. It may be having issues because of the German language.

Unfortunately the guy who coded a lot of the newest features. Has moved on to other projects. So I'd need to find someone who can fix it. Assuming it's broken.

Also note for anyone reading this looking for answers about why explorer is crashing when using DarkThumbs. I've found in rare occasions. Thay. Explorer will crash if the epub contained like a bazillion files inside it. I had some study guides with this issue. I tried everything. Just had to change their extension lol.
Hey Logarithmic. Can you send me one of those files you identified which crash explorer. Then maybe I can debug and see what is going on. This is really nice aside from a few stability issues.

Sure thing. This collection crashes it almost every time. I think one sometimes does not because the cover file is close to the beginning.

Edit: did someone remote the link? If so. Just leave me a note if you remove it. If not. Here is the link again.

There is a in depth guide to creating preview handlers in the Microsoft docs, with a copy of Visual Studio Community/ Visual Code, some reference sites such as Code Project, Stack Exchange and some practice you should be able to make your own handlers for most currently unsupported/ custom file types. https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/win...eview-handlers
    If you are interested.

Interesting that blows up inside the unzip library. I'm looking through the code and doing some cleanup. I'll make a pull request on GitLab with whatever I find.

If you want to be an official developer or whatever on DarkThumbs lmk.

I have no idea how to code or make changes to that language. I temp hired an out of country guy to make it work initially but he has since disappeared. Though in his defense. It works pretty good and he did what he agreed to.

But currently nobody has tried to make changes. Like the uninstall name is wrong. I think the gui still has the old name. Just small qol tweaks. If you're not interested. All good. Just offering.
