Welcom to the forum. There is very good reqson for that they are trying to keep everyone safe. When the massive ransomware attack killed thousands of pc a lot was due to having no password as that is a hackers dream come true. So without on you can be part of a bot spreading god knows what.

You have come to the right forum as there is a work around so you have a password but you login with having to use it but still be secure see our tutor Sign in User Account Automatically at Windows 10 Startup

You may prefer a local account. Switch to Local Account in Windows 10 You can eliminate the password for it.

I can't speak for Microsoft, but I believe that with Windows 10, they want you to always login to a Microsoft account, and for the PC to always be patched to the current level. If that doesn't appeal to you, Windows 10 may not be for you.

If you have a new machine, and Microsoft wants to charge you for support, I suppose that means that your Windows License is OEM. That requires you to go to the PC's manufacturer for support.

Thats just what I have been thinking.

I went with windows because a software program I wanted was not available for Mac or Linux

But I can live without it

Maybe I should stick to an OS I am comfortable with
