Hi there
Honestly NERO used to be a great product -- now it's FULL of bloatware -- the last decent version was release 9 IMO -- I don't need or want all that video / audio editing / stuff etc etc. Release 9 works and you can totally ignore the error.
I think you can ignore the error also in version 2014 -- but as others have said think what you actually NEED Nero for --- there are a load of free alternatives out there if you merely want to BURN / RIP CD's / DVD's. Think also that the DVD itself is a dying medium -- a lot of machines these days don't have them built in any more -- I only have an external DVD drive for archiving old DVD's to HDD and on the VER VERY rare occasion when I get a DVD movie / blu ray movie I always rip to HDD via a mechanism like AnyDVD.
Remember also that Windows 8 has native Virtual ISO mounting so if you copy the ISO to HDD you also don't need the physical DVD drive any more.
Cheers
