    2nd Clipboard possible?

I use Cntl-C and Cntl-V a lot but need to paste 2 things, one of which is a constant bit of text.
Is there any way to assign this to another Key? So it will permenantly paste that text, leaving C & V to do the other bit?

I don't know of any way out of the box that you could do this, somebody may know of some 3rd party software that may help.

If your not using it already could Clipboard history at least help with the problem? . + V then just click the entry from your clipboard history that you want to paste.

Clipboard remembers everything so you could save first thing to it, then the second thing and then paste them. Don't forget you can pin items in clipboard.

For clarity by default, clipboard only remembers last item. You have to change setting in settings menu to setup clipboard history.

ClipBoard History is the first thing to consider, if you have it activated --- mine vanished months ago and I have not yet mastered the RegEditor to get it back --- so instead I use a couple, out of the numerous third-party Clipboard apps available. Ditto is widely used I believe, but my preferred app is ClipClip, and CLCL as a backup. They would all do what you want I think, as they have their own Pin feature to keep frequently used Clips pinned. For example, in just a couple of clicks I can paste into a document my geographical address, phone numbers, email addresses etc.Plus you get many more features than the native ClipBoard History.

Thanks for the replies. I've activated the clipboard History, but its not much better as there's about as many key clicks as repeating ControlC & V. Ideally another key combination with something pinned would do it. I'm about to look at ClipClip.
Also I don't suppose you can add a carriage return?. This might save an Enter keypress after a paste. (I have hundreds to do so every saving is worthwhile),

You can do all kinds of interesting stuff with Autohotkey. Give it a look. I am not a user but many people have posted in these forums about using it. What you want to do should be a piece of cake.

I searched the main AutoHotkey site but couldn't find anything that leapt out at me as being simple to use and easy to implement.

However, here's a fairly recent review of 10 Best Clipboard Managers for Windows 10. There are several freeware ones which appear to be very simple and will do what you want.

    Hope this helps...

Thanks Rick, I did check that out but all of them seem to add a Clipboard History and/or pinning which doesn't save on keypresses for what I'm doing. AutoHotKey looks the best choice and I have it "half working". I just can't sort how to add my text (which is a bit of formatted javascipt). Ordinary text strings are ok and this is great as you can paste whatever you need repeated with Control and the key you've assigned. Similar to the KEY command on the old Commodores with basic 3.5 or later. So thanks Ztruker for putting me onto this. I was just waiting to get it going 100%.
