    Hi dalchina!

The stuff (like Microsoft and iTunes installers Etc) that were in my downloads file are only valuable to me IF they affect my desktop's performance. And, so far today, my desktop seems to be unaffected by the files missing in my Downloads page. iTunes is running fine, all my photos are visible in Pictures and Drive, I am Emailing with friends etc etc. The only thing that is different today are the files that were in my Downloads page. Files that I have always thought I couldn't delete without harming my computer. Now I guess I could have.

The Files in Downloads File are not actual programs, they are installer files to install the programs. Once the Programs have been installed you can delete the Download files without deleting the installed program.

    To both of you:

Thank you for all your help! Since my desktop seems to be running fine without all the files I mentioned above, then I don't really care if they are not listed in my "Downloads" page. I never used them anyway, and I always thought that I couldn't get rid of them without harming my desktop. So, what I plan to do is see how my computer runs for a week, and if it runs good like it is now, then I will uninstall all the programs you two have asked me to download and just move on like it is.

Thanks for all your help you two! I will mark this thread as solved in a week if nothing is affected.

    Mark

    Delete files in download

There is a setting in storage to delete the files if Storage Sense is ran.

If you have downloaded stuff related to search and recover, why not leave them in place? You might need 'em one day.
