    W10 search not working...

    Switching on my daughter’s W10 laptop this morning I notice that the search box does nothing – whatever I type appears in the box but when I press return nothing happens – whatever I’ve written in the box remains but there are NO search results. I thought initially it was a fault but on switching on my own W10 desktop I find exactly the same thing… Now two computers behaving like this at the same time and in the same house would surely be more than a co-incidence so I presume a recent update is to blame...?

    I've looked through some recent postings and there have been a couple mentioned this problem, are others having the same issues? I have the latest version of W10 (1909) and Windows Update tells me "You're up to date"...

    Join the queue- for 1909 users.. my 1903 seems ok (in the UK). (I reverted to 1903 when I saw the file explorer search problem by uninstalling the 1909 enablement package (Windows update).

    Thanks Dalchina…

    I had a quick look in the Task manager and it appears SearchUI.exe is suspended, and UAC virtualisation is 'not allowed'. I've turned SearchUI.exe off and it immediately comes back showing it's running but after a couple of seconds reverts to suspended...

    Using step 3 in the tutorial below to "Turn Off Search online and include web results from Bing" should fix the broken search in Windows 10.

    From task manager delete " SearchUI.exe". It will automatically start again & you will able to search.

    I used the following Powershell fix:

    Get-AppxPackage Microsoft.Windows.Cortana | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register "$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml"}
