    my search bar is broken

ive tried as many fixes as i could, mainly the ones shown in this video, but nothing is working.

i just set up my new oculus rift s and was testing it out by trying to get minecraft vr working, but every time i launch the game it says "windows automatic updates must be enabled" ... so i enabled the updates, windows did some small updates (now on version 1909, build 18363.628), i restarted the pc, and now minecraft vr still wont work (same error) and all i got out of my troubles is my search bar no longer works. please let me know what else i can do to fix this.

I have the same issue. There is always something broken in Windows 10. I should've stayed with Windows 7, as I had NO problems with it.

I just joined this forum to post this very problem. It happened while i was doing some settings changes on my PC and i thought i'd done something daft. But bizarrely (i thought) it has occured simultaneously on my laptop which was just sitting idle and is not connected to my PC.

Seems to be affecting a lot of people from the reports I am seeing on the web. Might be related to a recent update.

Many people seem to have this problem today and it can be fixed by disabling Bing in Windows search: How to Disable Bing in the Windows 10 Start Menu

This could be a temporary issue with Bing servers that Microsoft fixes soon, but at least I didn't want Bing searches in the Windows search anyway so I disabled them.

Edit: reboot the computer after making the registry change.

I've not knowingly updated either of my devices in the last 24hrs. There's always been an indication before: "update and shut down" or whatever.

Just followed the registry change on the link provided by Winnerz, but it didn't work.
