    Fix for blank search screen

To fix Windows Search blank results, simply follow these steps:

Open Windows Run.Type “regedit” to open Windows Registry.Click Yes to the prompt asking for administrator permission.Navigate to the following path: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\SearchRight-click the Search option.Choose New > DWORD (32-bit) Value.Name the new value BingSearchEnabled.Double-click the new BingSearchEnabled that you just created.Change the value to 0 if it’s 1.Click OK to continue. Now look for ‘CortanaConsent’.Double-click CortanaConsent value and change its value data to 0. If you don’t see CortanaConsent value, create it manually. You can now kill the Cortana process in Task Manager or Restart the PC.

Thanks @Winnerz...work for me...by downloading the small files from the link you post...
"Download Web Search Override Files"....one for disable... one other for enable.
    Simple like that !

You need to apply the registry change first (How to Disable Bing in the Windows 10 Start Menu) and then restart.

Sorry - been busy. No, i didn't reboot, but i have now and it's working a treat Thanks so much @Winnerz. I'll do the same fix on my laptop now, but still mystified why it happened.

But would that give the added bonus of disabling Bing in the start menu?
