    Minor flaw with taskbar?

This is easier to describe with screenshots, which I hope make my question clear. In short, my taskbar/tray was OK until I removed the Desktop toolbar to provide a bit more space. But although it's admittedly a trivial glitch I'd like to get rid of that residual part of the QuickLaunch top item.

Try something quick. It looks like the Taskbar is locked. Right click and unlock it. Or vice-versa.

Yes, it is locked, as I said!

May not be much you can do about it then. Seems to be a restriction in the way it allocates the space between locked and unlocked..... the boundaries where it can be slid <----->

    Terry,

This can be fixed quickly and eaily.

Note that your Quick Launch Taskbar Toolbar is just one particular type of Taskbar Toolbar.

See Taskbar Toolbars - my drag them to the left ditty - TenForums which includes showing you how to size their appearance.

This has been a problem since Windows XP.
It happens sometimes. And sometimes not.

    Here's mine.
    Minor flaw with taskbar?-tb.png

I eliminated the "Quick Launch" text. Try it. That might help you.

I've also added two taskbar menus on the right. These are where I sometimes have problems.
They're pushed all the way to the right so the icon contents are hidden.
You have to click the double-arrow thingie to bring up a menu.

Sometimes they look just right, as in that screenshot.

But sometimes they "leak" some of the icons (usually half of an icon) onto the taskbar ... and only when the taskbar is locked.
If I unlock the taskbar, the "leak" is gone.
But sometimes I get lucky and there's no leak. When that happens I leave the taskbar lock ... keeping the devil in his cage!

    Margrave,

The link I posted for Terry will also allow you to get rid of the text leakage you describe. Since following the posted procedure, I have not had any more Taskbar Toolbar text 'leakage'

Thanks. I deleted the Quick Launch toolbar and then returned it again - and happily the strange 'remnant' was no longer displayed after locking again.

But I'd also like to remove the text 'Quick Launch'. After all, it's obvious where to click to launch it! How did you do it please?

I was thinking of perhaps changing the name of the folder to say 'QL' before making the toolbar. But I hesitate about changing a system folder.

With the taskbar unlocked I think you can right-click somewhere, and in the context popup you can choose to show or not show the name.

But I can't remember where you right-click to get that menu. Sorry.

This happens to me if I try to resize the toolbar. So, unlock, resize, and lock ... Can't get the original size back - see the picture:

My solution - remove the toolbar (right click / toolbars / deselect the toolbar in question) and add it again. I didn't find any other way
