With the taskbar unlocked I think you can right-click somewhere, and in the context popup you can choose to show or not show the name. But I can't remember where you right-click to get that menu. Sorry.
    Margrave,

You'll see this in my linked procedure where I suggest selecting 'Title' and you can choose to select nothing. It will all still work.

My solution - remove the toolbar (right click / toolbars / deselect the toolbar in question) and add it again. I didn't find any other way
    Andre,

I used to get this problem until I worked through the procedure I gave a link to in post #5. The problem has never returned.

Denis, I've read the link in #5, and if I understand correctly, your fix is to deselect "show text" and "show title",

If I do that, The name of my toolbar disappears.

i don't really have problems with it. This was just a demonstration..

AndreTen: That's what worked for me too.

Thanks Denis. Duly filed in case I need it in future, but happily it got fixed by removing and replacing the QL toolbar.

    Andre,

No, that initial deselection is partway through and is later followed by reselecting 'Title' unless, like Terry, you deliberately want to keep it blank.

Like you, I used to just keep fixing it temporarily by repeating the removal of the Taskbar Toolbar and then setting it back on again but the method I posted means the job never has to be repeated. The fix has lasted despite version updates, use of different-resolution external monitors and everything else that has happened over the past three years or so.

    Terry,

Your particular case [the Quick launch Taskbar toolbar] is the subject of
Add or Remove Quick Launch toolbar - TenForumsTutorials
so you can see additional guidance there.

Your Quick launch toolbar is simply a Taskbar toolbar into which Windows has already thrown a few odds and ends. There is no substantial difference between it and the custom toolbars you'll see illustrated in my links. I have merely created my own folder for my 'Menus' taskbar toolbar so I can chuck in whatever I want grouped how I want.

That fix has been hit or miss for me. Sometimes it works. Sometimes not.
Once I get it to work I scrupulously avoid unlocking the task bar and everything remains intact.

Create a custom Toolbar with desired shortcuts and name the custom folder blank, (Alt255)...
