Win 10 v1909 Reststart takes over 2 minutes why?

    Hey All,

I just reinstalled Windows 10 v1909 Fresh install on 2 - 970Evo M.2 drives in Raid 0. When I goto restart the PC and fast restart is off but that is not the issue, the restart takes over 2 minutes.

Now this same PC on the same version of win 10 before I reinstalled took 17 seconds to restart according to Windows which was fast, I still had fast boot off like always..

I tried running a clean boot but it still seemed to have taken 2 minutes to do a restart.. I do not have any programs that I did not have before I keep the same programs.

here are my specs I had this PC since 2017-18 and never had this issue.. I ran a DISM - SFC Scannow and chkdsk /f no errors or any corruption was detected..

I will try another clean boot to be sure that didn't fix it but other then a clean boot what could cause a slow restart..

    1. Intel i5 7600K
    2 MSI Z270 SLI Motherboard.
    3. Soundblaster Z Soundcard 5.1
    4. Asus 1080GTX 436.48 drivers..
    5. Odyssey Plus
    6. Thrustmaster Cougar Joystick and MFD's buttons.
    7. Buittkicker Simulation..
    8 Win 10 v1909 18363.592

It boots up normal just when I got to restart it I have long wait time between it coming back on.. I never had this issue before.

Hi, just to confirm, as your terminology is a little unclear, do you have fast startup off?
Turn On or Off Fast Startup in Windows 10

    This my be of interest:
Check if Last Boot from Hybrid, Full, or Hibernate in Windows 8 and 10

Otherwise, a possibility that occurs is that you have some driver difference between this installation and the previous one.

In order to identify the cause of a slow boot you could use this:
Download and Install Windows Performance Toolkit in Windows 10
    - the Windows Performance Analyser

However this is somewhat technically demanding- whilst the output is graphical, it is also somewhat complex.

the above was in power shell..

OK I had a quick look at those win 10 tools, how is that program going to help me determine what is going on when I restart my PC??

I see it has alot of data but that is when the PC is running IF you give me an idea I will look into that program further but read up on the analyzer..

Hi, I warned you this was a technical tool and almost no one- including me- here is truly familiar with it.

That said, there are several threads- and numerous ones on
'slow boot' 'slow boot performance analyser'
where you can see some examples of use. I have found a few for you- there are more.

Win10 Slow boot time. Help debug with Windows Performance Analyzer

Windows Performance Analyzer vs Boot Phases (where is it?)

Suddenly getting slow boot times Help me analyze WinBootInfo boot log

I'm afraid I can only offer you these hints.

Was your Raid array created under BIOS?
Do you have the Raid driver installed?
Download install and run Intel® Driver & Support Assistant

As it has a tracking feature, uninstall after use.

Well I reran the Win 10 tool after reading one of those posts as it has a restart test.. I ran it it rebooted 3 times. now looking at the graph I am wondering what if anything should I be looking for??I seen DWM.exe that was running for the length of the restart perhaps I have a graphics driver issue?

Perhaps turning on verbose boot logging might tell you more..

Hi Guys, I had forgotten all about this post and just bought a new PC and I am still having this issue but this time I tracked down the Culprit, It was my Samsung Odyssey Plus causing the slow restarts /Shutdowns..

Now the problem I am having is finding a permanent solution that will correct this bug.. For now the workaround I use is to disable the headset in Device manager.. but I might forget I did that and would wonder why my headset is not working lol!!

I am trying to determine if this is a WMR issue or combo Win 10 issue/WMR?? well hope to hear some good news and sorry I forgot about the thread..will keep a close eye on it now.
