"Press any key to boot from CD" does NOT work

Today I created a recovery disk for EaseUS todo and when I went to check it, I could NOT get it to boot.

I was able to get to the window that says "Press any key to boot from a CD/DVD". Nothing happens. I even checked it with the DVD that was used to install Windows 10, with the same results.

Anyone have a suggestion on how to fix this issue.

I created the Rescue Disk (on a CD) by using the EasyUS todo program that I have installed. As I said I could NOT get any bootable disk to bootup from the "Press any key" prompt.

BTW my boot sequence is set up as Hard Drive -- CD/DVD --- Hard Drive. I have installed Windows a few times and never had this kind of problem.

Have you tried booting the CD directly from Boot Menu (like shown below)?
To get to the boot menu, right after powering on your PC, press F9, F11 or whatever if key is assigned for your PC to boot up to boot menu. You can check online for you particular brand and model what F key is assigned for your PC. Or just do a trial and error. Normally it's between F9, F10 and F11.

yes badrobot I used that (mine not exactly the same as that, but close). It was the only way I could get "Press any key ....etc" to show up. At that point I pressed all kinds of keys and it just sits there and does NOTHING.

Booting from CD/DVD is a very slow process and take a while to load that make you think it's not working. 2nd, check if you have the option to by pass prompting "Press Any Key to boot ....", I don't use Todo Backup but with Macrium, the option when create a rescue CD/DVD is there, for example:

Try turning off secure boot in the bios.

Change your boot sequence to cd/dvd first.

That should work nicely. And, yes, DVD CD booting often "hesitates in silence" just before continuing.
