Laptop will not wake from sleep since upgrading to Windows 10

On my Lenovo B570 laptop, if the laptop goes into sleep mode (usually happens overnight), it is not possible to wake it. Pressing any key on the keyboard does not wake it,using the touchpad also does not wake it, nor does clicking on the clickers.

The only thing that I can do is hold the power button until the laptop shuts off completely and then power it back on.

This was not a problem when it had Windows 7 on it.

Does anybody know how to fix this?

First thing I would try is disabling hibernation.

to a command prompt (admin) or powershell (admin)

    powercfg -h off

to reverse change the word off to on in command.

If indeed it is related to hibernation then it is likely a driver issue. The issue will be which one. Are any drivers current flagged in device manager?

There is no drivers flagged in Device Manager

I do not know if the powershell command worked or not. There was no confirmation of either

    It worked.

    To see use command

    powercfg -a

Hibernation should not be listed as an available state.

Your display driver might be corrupted. This used to be flagged up in Windows 7 as a common cause of symptoms such as yours but Windows 10 does not try to be as helpful.

Go to the OEM, download the latest display driver and install it even if it is the same version as the current one. While you are there, check for any updated bios.

There are no real diagnostics for a corrupted display driver so reinstallation acts as the only available means of ensuring it is correct.

Obviously it did NOT work. The laptop went into hibernation in JUST the time it took me to make this reply and it has never gone into sleep mode that quickly. It seems that all powerfcg -h off did was significantly reduce the time needed for it to sleep

and lets not confuse hibernation with sleep. If hibernation is off it can't hibernate.

    check the powercfg -a

    output

So hibernation is indeed disabled. Sleep is enabled.

Did you check power settings for "Sleep" time.

Can you wait device after long period of non use.

    Did you try Denis's suggestion?
